I am proud to announce that I am now a proud voting member of the European Film Academy. You can view my profile HERE.
Founded in 1988, the European Film Academy now unites more than 3,200 European film professionals with the common aim of promoting Europe’s film culture.
The creation of the European Film Academy (EFA) was the initiative of a group of Europe’s finest filmmakers brought together on the occasion of the first European Film Awards Ceremony held in November 1988. EFA was finally founded in 1989 as the European Cinema Society by its first president Ingmar Bergman and 40 filmmakers to advance the interests of the European film industry. Wim Wenders was elected as first chairman of the association which two years later was renamed European Film Academy. In 1996, he followed Ingmar Bergman as president of the EFA while British producer Nik Powell was elected as chairman of the EFA Board. He was followed by French producer Humbert Balsan who was chairman from 2003 until his sudden death in 2005 and French producer Yves Marmion until 2013. Current chairwoman is Polish director Agnieszka Holland.
The European Film Academy (EFA) now unites more than 3,000 European film professionals with the common aim of promoting European film culture. Throughout the year, the EFA initiates and participates in a series of activities dealing with film politics as well as economic, artistic, and training aspects. The programme includes conferences, seminars and workshops, and a common goal is to build a bridge between creativity and the industry. These activities culminate in the annual presentation of the European Film Awards.
Since its early beginnings, Berlin has been the seat of the EFA Secretariat where it is registered as a non-profit association.
I will be attending Sarajevo Film Festival 14-17 August 2017, representing Cyprus Film Days International Film Festival and my feature film PAUSE.

The official website of my debut feature film PAUSE is live. Check it out!
The film is now in post-production and expected to be released in 2018.
I am happy to announce that PAUSE has been selected to participate in the Works in Progress of the 52nd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival taking place June 30- July 8 2017.
I will be attending the festival where I will present PAUSE including a teaser and a scene from the film. Following a panel discussion, the festival arranges for interested visitors of the Works in Progress programme (sales agents, festival programmers, distributors) to set up individual meetings with the presenters to get more information about their projects.
7 other films will be presented this year.
I will be attending Cannes Film Festival representing my feature film PAUSE 23-28 May 2017.
Don’t hesitate to email me for a meeting.
Tired from the last month of shooting PAUSE, but very happy that the shoot wrapped successfully. Best cast and best crew anyone could hope for!
With all funding in place and a new title, PAUSE, we are now in the midst of pre-production, loads of hours, meetings, shot lists… Happy times!

I am happy to announce that I have been selected to attend the Berlinale Talents 2016.
Berlinale Talents is the annual summit and networking platform of the Berlin International Film Festival for 250 outstanding creatives from the fields of film and drama series.
Back in June this year, my film LULLABY OF THE BUTTERFLY was officially selected to participate in the competition of the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival and I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to travel to LA to represent it! The screening took place at the Egyptian Theatre in the heart of Hollywood!
A great experience!
Great news came also in the Summer when I found out that LULLABY OF THE BUTTERFLY has been officially selected at Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival (an Oscar and BAFTA qualifying festival) and I am as we speak planning my trip to Bristol UK. Will post photos on www.lullabyofthebutterfly.com
The greatest news of all is that my debut feature film MENOPAUSE has been selected to take part in two amazing co-production markets Mannheim Meeting Place 19-22 October 2015 (Mannheim Film Festival, Germany) and Connecting Cottbus 5-6 November 2015 (Cottbus International Film Festival, Germany). Looking forward to both! Will keep you posted on more news!
I haven’t written in a while and this means that things have been busy… which is a good thing… In the past year, I have shot my 3rd short film “Lullaby of the butterfly” which has finished and already started its Festival run with an amazing Festival for World Premiere, Sarajevo Film Festival… I represented the film and it was an amazing experience, walked the red carpet and everything…!!! The films in competition were only 10 in number which made things even more exciting! Up next was Drama Short Film Festival which I visited as well and had a fantastic time with fellow filmmakers Daina Papadaki, Marios Piperides and the lead actress of the film, Alexia Charalambidou! We had some really good feedback for our film and found out, after the closing ceremony- from one of the judges, that Alexia just missed the Best actress award! Pity, but it was good to know! Athens International Film Festival was next and EkaDeshma in Nepal for our lullaby…. but this week comes the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus, where “Lullaby of the butterfly” makes its National Premiere on Saturday 11th October at 8.30pm in Limassol at Rialto Theatre!
“Dead End”, which is still alive and kicking, has had numerous Festival Competition participations throughout the year, in almost every country you can imagine… to mention a few, Palm Springs Shortfest (California, USA), Mediterranean Film Festival of Tangiers (Morocco), Yerevan Golden Apricot Film Festival (Armenia) and more in Italy, Romania, Finland, UK, Germany, Autralia, France, Belgium, India, Switzerland, South Korea and many more…
Furthermore, I have been very busy with work for the Directors Guild of Cyprus as I was elected to be a member of the board in January 2014! We have done loads of work since then and we are very proud… we have made a website, membership cards, become members of FERA, updated our statute, organised one festival and one masterclass… and we are still going….
Last but not least, I have been Executive Producer and Production manager on 2 feature film productions that we prepared and shot from April-July 2014. This has been very hard as the 2 productions were shot back to back but I hope our hard efforts will show once the films are finished! Both productions, “Family member” by Marinos Kartikkis and “Magic Beans” by Theo Panayides are now in post-production and expected to be completed in 2015.
The Theatre Development Company of Limassol in collaboration with the Embassy of Israel and the Cyprus Centre of International Theatre Institute co-organizes an event for World Theatre Day on March 27, 2014 at Tecnochoros ETHAL.
The event presents a staged reading in the form of a directed play, of the play “The Road to the Windmill” by Electra Georgiades. The play was awarded in 2012, at the First One-act Theatre Competition in Memory Kostis Kolotas.
